One of a Kind

Read 2 Kings 18:1 through 20:21

Aaron had been the tallest child in his class since kindergarten. In his senior year of high school he was 7 feet 5 inches tall, standing out and standing over all those in school. Nobody could miss Aaron if he was in the room. Everybody remembered him for his height, and he was the topic of many conversations.

There was a king that stood out from all other kings and is remembered today by one of the best compliments given to a king in the Old Testament.

Hezekiah trusted in the Lord, the God of Israel. There was no one like him among all the kings of Judah, either before him or after him (2 Kings 18:5).

The Bible records some of Hezekiah’s works for God: He obeyed God as David had. He destroyed idols and places of idol worship. He refused to allow Assyria to dominate Israel.

How will you be remembered by your family and friends? What kind of legacy will you leave behind? What would God say about you?

CHALLENGE FOR TODAY: Ask God to show you how you may please and honor Him in a greater way.
