Read Psalms 110:1 through 118:29
“I told my wife when we married that I love her and she shouldn’t expect to hear me say it again. It won’t change.” That’s the way Jerry left it for many years until his wife was attacked by an intruder in their home and faced death. Then he almost smothered her with words of love and affirmation.
Terry, on the other hand, ran to the front door to say “I love you” to his wife and kids as she left to take them to school. It was his last words to her in this life because she was killed in an accident on the way home. Even though the pain of loss was great, it comforted him to know those were his last words to her.
The shortest psalm and chapter in the Bible is an affirmation of God’s love for us.
Praise the Lord, all you nations; extol him, all you peoples. For great is his love toward us, and the faithfulness of the Lord endures forever. Praise the Lord (Psalm 117:1–2).
God’s love and faithfulness is shown to us daily.
CHALLENGE FOR TODAY: Make sure the ones you love hear your words of love and affirmation daily.
