Read Jeremiah 1:1 through 3:25
“You took the words right out of my mouth.”
You’ve said that, too, haven’t you? Just before you could voice a statement, someone else beat you to it.
For the prophet Jeremiah, the scene was a little different. It wasn’t chance or a silly accident. It was the holy God choosing to voice truth through a human. He didn’t take words out of someone’s mouth. He placed words there, His holy words of truth.
Then the Lord reached out his hand and touched my mouth and said to me, “Now, I have put my words in your mouth” (Jeremiah 1:9).
We could evaluate every verse in the Book of Jeremiah. We could study the prophecies and analyze the instructions. Those are healthy ways to study. But today let’s ask ourselves this question: “How does God speak through me?”
Don’t think about a sermon, a song, or a prophecy. Think about comments at dinner. Or at work. Or in the car. Or at school. As believers, we must allow God to speak His words through our mouths.
Challenge for Today: Let God speak through you to voice His hope to others.
