Providential Protection

Read Numbers 16:1 through 17:13

Kristen is a 15-year-old girl who loves Jesus. She had been sharing with several friends about Jesus and some of them had agreed to come to church with her. One night she woke up feeling a heavy weight on her chest. She opened her eyes but couldn’t see anything. She also couldn’t move her limbs. She prayed, “Dear Jesus, help me,” and the weight eased but did not go away. Encouraged, she said again, “Jesus, I have no power on my own. I ask you to free me from the attacks of Satan.” No sooner had the words left her mouth than the weight disappeared and she could move again.

“When the assembly gathered in opposition to Moses and Aaron and turned toward the Tent of Meeting, suddenly the cloud covered it and the glory of the Lord appeared” (Numbers 16:42).

If you are a Christian, the devil opposes you. Satan may try to attack you more subtly than Kristen was attacked. He may accuse you or try to plague you with guilt and condemnation. Remember to turn to God when you are attacked. His glory will appear, and He will not let any weapon forged against you prosper.

Prayer for Today:

Thank you, Lord, for your protection. I place my trust in You.
