Read Luke 4:31 through 5:11
The mute button on a remote control is a powerful thing. Any time a commercial on television comes on that is loud, inappropriate, annoying, or saturated in temptation, a simple push of the mute button silences all the irritating noise.
Life offers too many distractions and temptations. No doubt, Satan is often the noise in our life trying to distract us away from God. His entire purpose is to steal, kill, and destroy the hope and assurance we have in Christ.
The good news is that Satan can be silenced. His taunting and temptation has little power compared to the strength of God.
“Be quiet!” Jesus said sternly. “Come out of him!” Then the demon threw the man down before them all and came out without injuring him (Luke 4:35).
Satan and his demons must submit to God’s authority. The next time you feel tempted, tried, ambushed, or oppressed, tell Satan to “be quiet” and to leave you alone.
PRAYER SUGGESTION:
Pray that God would help you realize when you are being attacked by Satan and ask Him for help during those times.
