Read Esther 8:1 through 10:3
“Nothing good ever happens to me,” lamented Fred. “I can’t believe how God blesses everyone else but me. I don’t rush things and I try to be patient, but God seems to ignore me.” Many times, God’s answer may be to wait on Him and His timing. But other times, we are called to take a stand or speak up for the good of others.
Mordecai the Jew was second in rank to King Xerxes, preeminent among the Jews, and held in high esteem by his many fellow Jews, because he worked for the good of his people and spoke up for the welfare of all the Jews (Esther 10:3).
For Mordecai and the Jews, the Book of Esther has a happy ending. Mordecai was a man of action and spoke up. Mordecai’s action to expose assassins was used by God to influence Xerxes. Mordecai also persuaded Queen Esther to talk to the king. God needed Mordacai to act right then. God might need your actions also. In what ways can you obey God by your action?
Challenge for Today:
Pray for discernment to know when to wait and when to act.
