Sin is Messy

Read  1 Corinthians 5:1 through 7:40

One evening Justin, David, and Benjamin decided to help their father get rid of the broken washing machine. They disconnected the electrical cord and water hoses, and drained and removed it to make room for the new machine. However, the next morning, they woke up to a wet floor that extended from the laundry room into other rooms. One of the water valves was not completely closed and leaked all through the night.

Just a little water can add up to a big mess. Sin is the same way, if it is not stopped. Sin will continue to grow and if left undealt with, like water, will spread and affect every other room in our house.

The Bible says, “You were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body” (1 Corinthians 6:20). Take time today to reflect on the way you honor God. Think about your decisions, choices, relationships, friends, and habits. Being a God pleaser is the choice of one who has determined to commit their whole heart and body to God. Walking in obedience will always bring blessing and honor to one’s life. To honor God is to love God through the way you follow His Word, His way, and His will.

CHALLENGE FOR TODAY:

In every circumstance of life, aim to honor God in everything you do!
