Read Hebrews 10:19 through 12:29
A Christian counselor in a drug recovery program for women was attempting to encourage a resident who was ready to give up. The resident missed her family, and felt the recovery process was too long and difficult. The counselor encouraged her by reminding her of the importance of not giving up, the goals she had set for her life, and how those goals could not reached if she quit.
In the same way, you and I must persevere in the will of God for our lives: We must not give up. The Book of Hebrews instructs us not to throw away the confidence we have in Christ, the One in whom we have placed our faith (Hebrews 10:35). The writer to the Hebrews tells us that God will richly reward such confidence, if we continue to trust Him and to persevere in the midst of our most difficult trials.
The greatest promise God made to us is that in just a little while Jesus will return to take us home to heaven, where we will live with Him eternally and receive rewards of eternal value for the things we have done in this life.
PRAYER SUGGESTION:
Dear Lord, please help me persevere through my most difficult times of testing.
