Read Luke 4:16 through 6:49
Teaching by the shore of Lake Gennesaret, Jesus asked Peter to launch his boat so He could sit in it as he taught the people. Peter did as Jesus asked. When Jesus finished teaching, He told Peter to take the boat to deep water and put down the nets. Peter had already fished all night and had caught nothing but, out of respect for Jesus, he obeyed (Luke 5:5). The nets filled with fish and in a moment Peter had so many fish that his boat could not hold them. Peter’s fishing partners came in another boat but once the boats were loaded both were in danger of sinking.
Our God is like that. When someone obeys Him, He blesses them, sometimes beyond what they expect. If we want God to bless us that way in our lives, we must choose to be obedient to Him. Only then can we expect His will to be done in our lives, and that’s the best we can ever desire or hope for.
If God has told you to change something in any area of your life or ministry, make the change now and so you can see the results God has planned.
CHALLENGE FOR TODAY:
