Read Isaiah 10:20 through 12:6; 2 Corinthians 10:1–18
In her short story titled “I’m Still Learning to Forgive,” Corrie ten Boom recounted something that happened while she was ministering at a church in Munich, Germany, in 1947.
Corrie came face-to-face with one of the guards from the concentration camp where she and her sister had been held. A man who had brought pain to Corrie’s life stood before her, asking for forgiveness.
Although Corrie struggled at first, she surrendered to doing what she believed was God’s will. She reached out and took hold of the man’s outstretched hand.
“The Lord, the Lord himself, is my strength and my defense; he has become my salvation” (Isaiah 12:2).
God will be your strength in any situation—no matter how difficult. He alone stands as your defense. He is able to comfort and to rescue, to shield and to deliver. You can trust Him to go before you, and you can trust Him to cover your back. He will be faithful.
Prayer Suggestion:
Ask God to help you forgive anyone you have struggled to forgive.
