Read Exodus 35:1 through 40:38
Compare today’s reading with Exodus chapters 25 through 30. At first glance, it may seem that you’re looking at the same six chapters; each contain detailed minutiae about the construction and function of the tabernacle. The difference is that in the first passage, the Lord was giving exhaustive instructions to His people. In the second, the people were carrying out those instructions.
“So Bezalel, Oholiab and every skilled person to whom the Lord has given skill and ability to know how to carry out all the work of constructing the sanctuary are to do the work just as the Lord has commanded” (Exodus 36:1).
Given the precise detail of God’s instructions, that was a tall order. Nonetheless, Bezalel, Oholiab, and the rest of the crew carefully worked to follow God’s orders. They may not have understood why each object had to meet such exacting specifications, but they trusted that God knew what He was doing.
God is omniscient. He intimately understands how His creation is interconnected, and how each detail fits together to fulfill His will. Even if we don’t understand every detail of God’s plan for us, we should trust that those details are in His hands.
Challenge for Today:
If God has laid a plan of action in your heart, follow it to the last detail.
