Read Mark 10:1 through 11:33
For years Jacob searched for a way to God. In college, he investigated different world religions but never found what he was looking for. He tried doing good deeds, but they never seemed good enough. He made great efforts to improve himself, but he still felt the weight of his inadequacies.
One day a friend at work invited Jacob to a Bible study. Though a little reluctant, he accepted. After weeks of attending, the truth penetrated Jacob’s heart. He began to see how he could truly have a relationship with God.
Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God” (Mark 10:27).
The truth Jesus shared in this verse is simple: It is impossible for human beings to create their own path to God.
People cannot do enough good works or become good enough to reach God. Many try, but all fail. There is only one way to have a relationship with God and that is through His Son, Jesus Christ. The God of the impossible makes it possible for anyone who believes.
Thought for Today:
Only God can do the impossible.
