Read Psalms 102:1 through 105:45
As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him (Psalm 103:13).
If a father sees his child stuck in a tree, he will help the crying child down. His compassion moves his heart to action. How many times do people find themselves stuck in difficult situations of their own making? They cry out to God for help, but are unsure if He is willing. After all, they brought this on themselves.
God is willing, for the Bible says that while a person sits in his sin, Christ died for him. He does not wait until a person cleans up his act and fixes his messes. God’s compassion reaches out to help those stuck in a “tree.”
Jesus demonstrated the compassion of the Father during His life. Many times Jesus would see the crowds and, moved by compassion, heal them. He spoke to the woman at the well and saved her. He reached His hand to save Peter from drowning. His compassion abounds.
Have you found yourself stuck in a tree that you climbed? The Father of compassion desires to help you down. He understands your frailties and that you make mistakes. Call on Him.
