Read Revelation 1:1–20
“I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty” (Revelation 1:8).
The Scriptures declare that God is “the Almighty.” If we break this word up into two words, we discover the words “all” and “mighty.” This more than just merely implies that we serve a God who is all powerful, a God who is more than sufficient to intervene in the midst of our fiery trials, a God who is so much more than adequate. This word “Almighty” shouts it. It reminds us that “if God is for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31). We can take courage today as we realize that the God who has saved us and called us into intimate fellowship and communion with himself is the God for whom nothing is impossible.
No situation or circumstance that believers face today is outside of God’s sovereign ability to solve, control, change, or cause to work together for our good and His glory, because He is the Almighty.
CHALLENGE FOR TODAY:
Have faith in the “all mighty” God you serve.
