A Secure Future

Read Proverbs 5:1 through 6:35

Ty and Melanie listened intently as the financial planner explained how he could help make their future secure. “Make the right decisions today, and you will have peace of mind tomorrow,” he assured them. “You don’t want to reach the final season of life and have nothing to fall back on but regret.”

At the end of your life you will groan, when your flesh and body are spent (Proverbs 5:11).

Although planning for retirement is a good idea, it’s much more important to invest in a relationship with Christ. Money in the bank is small comfort for the lonely person who looks back on a lifetime of mistakes that both shattered family ties and led to separation from God.

You don’t have to face a future filled with regret. God offers forgiveness of sins and hope for tomorrow. Regardless of your stage in life, He has a wonderful plan for you. You can fulfill it by accepting Christ and following Him. It’s never too early— or too late—to make your future secure in Christ.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY:

True security is found only in a relationship with Jesus Christ.
