Read Isaiah 5:1 through 8:22
The Lord Almighty is the one you are to regard as holy, he is the one you are to fear, he is the one you are to dread (Isaiah 8:13).
Of all human fears, the fear of man is one of the greatest. The fear of man means being more concerned about what others think than about what God thinks.
Sarah had been a Christian for nearly 15 years. When she was around her church family, she found it easy to be bold for Jesus. But when she was at work or with friends, she turned to jelly.
Sarah berated herself for failing to respond to opportunities to share her faith. But she made excuses for her fear, telling herself that her friends would think she was weird, or fanatical, or just plain stupid.
The Holy Spirit revealed to Sarah that her sin was not a lack of boldness, but a lack of reverence for God. When Sarah learned to fear God above man, boldness became a natural byproduct.
Thought for Today:
If the fear of man has ensnared you, renounce that fear and replace it with the fear of God.
