The one-year reading plan

Read from the Old Testament in the morning and the New Testament at night, and in twelve months you will have read the whole Bible. Prefer two years? Read the Old Testament the first year and the New Testament the second.

The Old Testament

The books are read in biblical order — Genesis through Song of Solomon — except for the prophets, who are read in the order they lived and wrote: Obadiah, Joel, Jonah, Amos, Hosea, Isaiah, Micah, Nahum, Habakkuk, Zephaniah, Jeremiah, Lamentations, Ezekiel, Daniel, Haggai, Zechariah and Malachi.

The New Testament

  1. Matthew, then Acts
  2. Mark and the general epistles: Jude, 1 Peter, 2 Peter, James
  3. Luke and Paul's epistles: 1 and 2 Thessalonians, 1 and 2 Corinthians, Romans, Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, Philemon, Hebrews, Titus, 1 and 2 Timothy
  4. John and John's epistles: 1, 2 and 3 John, and Revelation

Followed from January through December, the plan keeps returning to the life, death and resurrection of Jesus.
