EPHOD privacy policy
Introduction
EPHOD respects your privacy. This policy explains how the EPHOD PH and EPHOD PNG mobile apps, and this website, handle information. In short: your personal data stays on your device and is never sent to our servers.
Information we collect
Stored only on your device
Your journal entries, your record of completed readings, your preferences (language, Bible version, dark mode, notification settings) and your reminder times are stored on your phone only. They are never transmitted anywhere.
Retrieved from our servers
The apps download the daily Bible readings, memory verses, Gold Nugget verses, weekly devotions and Bible versions from our servers. Retrieving this content involves no personal information.
Data storage and security
Journal entries, reading progress and preferences stay on your device and are not shared with anyone. Bible content is downloaded and cached locally so the apps work offline. Uninstalling an app or clearing its data permanently deletes everything stored on the device.
Information we do not collect
The apps do not collect your name, email address, contact details, location, or any tracking identifiers. There are no analytics, no advertising, no user accounts and no profiles. We do not sell data, because we have none.
Third-party services
On Android, Google Play Services is used to distribute and update the app. On iOS, the App Store does the same. No other third-party services are used.
Children's privacy
The apps are suitable for all ages. They do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.
Data retention
Data stays on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app. You can clear the app's data at any time from your phone's settings.
Your rights
You can see all of your data inside the app, delete journal entries one at a time or all at once, and share a journal entry using the built-in share feature.
Permissions used
- Internet — to download readings, verses, devotions and Bible versions
- Notifications and vibrate — for the morning, evening and Gold Nugget reminders you set
- Boot completed and schedule exact alarm — so reminders still arrive after your phone restarts
This website
This website keeps no accounts and sets no tracking cookies. Your chosen Bible version and appearance are remembered in your own browser only. Scripture is loaded from our servers when you open a page.
Changes to this policy
Updates will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
